1 - What was the best season to scuba and surf at Maldive Islands?

The best season to surf is from April to October. Meanwhile for scuba diving we recommend November and December, because the sea is calm. Calima Surf offers you the possibility to cross the Maldives aboard  any of our Boat Trips packages, but if you would stay on land, we recommend the Surf Camp option at Lohifushi Island Resort, where you will find one of the best Scuba diving schools in the area. You will visit spots like MS Victory Wreck. Octbetilla, Manta Point, Shark Point, Rainbow Giri, Lyons Head, Paradise Rock, Aquarium, Coral Garden, Banana Reef.   

2 - How can I get to the best waves?

Besides Lohis, generally is necessary to sail to get to the waves. Calima Surf has aSurf Camp at Lohisfushi Island Resort and Surfing Boat Trips, with any of theese packages we assure you acces to excellent waves from may to october.

3 - Is a visa required to travel to Maldive?

You will get a tourist visa upon your arrival, but you can only get to the Maldives using one of the travel agencies authorized by the government.

4 - Do any of the packages include a plane ticket?

None of the Calima Surf packages include plane ticket

5- What are the languages spoken at Maldives?

Dhivehi, Sinhalese, but you can communicate quite well in English.

6 - Is there Surf Schools and repair shops?

Suring is fairly new in the Maldives, so there are no surf schools and there are few shops, so we recommend bringing at least 3 boards and a small repair kit.

7 - Why are they strict at the Maldives?

Because Maldives is an Islamic Republic whit specific laws.

8 - Is the Maldives a safe place?

With very low violence and delinquency rate, the Maldives is considered one the last missing paradises. Also the water in the Maldives is considered safe, whit no reported shark attack or like.
